In the south of the island, Saint-Trojan-les-Bains Beach is one of the meeting places for beginners and experienced surfers. If you want to surf with a view of the dunes and the forest, head to Giraudi\u00e8re beach in Grand-Village in the southwest of theOleron Island<\/strong>. Thanks to a long and flat wave, it is the ideal spot to learn how to position yourself well and do your first take-offs with the Kabanasurf surf school, one of the oldest surf schools on the island of Ol\u00e9ron.<\/p>\n Huttes Beach is located in the northwest of the island. This fast and hollow beach break offers a medium to long swell and sometimes powerful waves with good hollows. Local surfers and bodyboarders enjoy meeting there from September to March when the spot is much less crowded than in summer. A little tip: watch out for the reef at low tide which could severely plane your board!<\/p>\n If you are ready to take on very powerful waves, the Chassiron point is the ideal spot! At the far north of the island of Ol\u00e9ron, this rather technical reef is aimed at experienced surfers, because the currents are capricious and the wave requires total control. Beginners should refrain and choose a more accessible spot.<\/p>\n North of Saint-Trojan and Grand-Village, Vert Bois beach is very popular with local surfers. After putting on their wetsuits, they head out to sea with their surfboards under their arms. Surfing is possible for a good part of the year, especially from March to September, preferably in the morning. In winter, the easterly winds whip up big waves that break several hundred meters from the shore and swells are frequent.<\/p>\n A hotspot for surfing and longboarding in Ol\u00e9ron between Vert Bois and Grand Village, the Allassins spot is suitable for experienced surfers and children alike. The waves at Allassins are not very hollow and are long enough to make this beach break usable, whatever the tide.
